Some creative partnerships are built on contracts and deadlines. Others are built on something far less replicable: shared history.
Shane Vincent and I met when we were 13 years old, in the same grade at St. Peter's College in Sri Lanka. We didn't know it then, but those early years would set the foundation for a musical collaboration that has spanned decades through evolving influences, shifting genres, and the kind of artistic growth you can only witness from the front row.
This is the story of our new, untitled EP and why it matters.
Watching an Artist Grow, Year After Year
When you've known someone since they were a teenager, you don't just see the highlights. You see the full arc.
I watched Shane's musical identity take shape in real time. The early years: discovering which voices resonated with him. The middle years: the obsessive phase where he picked up instrument after instrument, not satisfied until he could express himself through each one. Then the later years: when all those influences and skills collapsed into a sound that was unmistakably his.
As a producer, these aren't just memories. They're reference points: sonic snapshots of who Shane was at every stage of his evolution. And that's where this EP begins.
More Than Just Another Release
We've never stopped making music together. Even after school, the collaboration continued through performances, studio sessions, and experiments that lived on hard drives and voice memos. Our last joint project, JamLab, was the most recent one we released, but the vault of unreleased work runs deep.
This new EP is different.
As a composer and music producer, I've always approached collaboration from a place of curation. The question I kept returning to was simple: what if I could bring to life the specific versions and eras of Shane's sound that I have enjoyed the most over the years?
That's the purpose of this project. It's not a greatest hits. It's not a follow-up. It's a producer's tribute to an artist's journey, with each track drawing from a distinct period of Shane's development, filtered through everything I've learned about music production in the years since.
Where Music, Marketing, and Tech Converge
This EP also represents the intersection my work has always occupied. The production pulls from my background in music production and sound design. The thinking behind its release draws from digital strategy: understanding how music gets discovered, shared, and remembered. And the technology that brings it all together (the tools, the workflows, the platforms) sits at the centre of everything I build.
It's a project that wouldn't exist without all three worlds colliding.

The EP is untitled for now as the full project takes shape, but the first two tracks from this collaboration (Near Love and Back on the 120) are already out and available to stream.
This project is for anyone who has ever watched a friend grow into their creative potential and thought, someone needs to capture this. This is me doing exactly that, with every synth patch, every arrangement decision, and every mix choice serving one goal: honouring the artist I've had the privilege of watching evolve for over 20 years.
